Therapists are legally and ethically required to maintain client confidentiality under the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the standards of their regulatory bodies, such as the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
Your personal information and what you discuss in therapy remain private. Details about confidentiality including exceptions are explained in more detail in the Intake Form and also during the first session with your therapist before you begin therapy.
